We can’t yet concede to give this award to anyone other than the now-defunct TORTILLAS, a staple of Atlanta’s dining scene for nearly 20 years and the first restaurant to give our city a taste of California-style burritos. Appropriately their symbol - a little donkey - is what the word burrito literally means. And the burritos here carry a heavy load of beans, rice, meat, veggies and more. The sides of shredded red cabbage and multi-colored chips complete the pretty picture. We’re not sure we understand the Chinese influence of cabbage and a fortune cookie, but that doesn’t bother us. The burritos go down easy. “1451 Oxford Road. 404-377-7786; 1259 Glenwood Ave. 404-627-4433.” less...
