We'd rather have chopsticks poked in our eyes than try to make this selection. Atlanta is full of very good Chinese restaurants and we should have separate categories for the numerous mainland China regions as well as Korean-Chinese fusion options. But we find ourselves returning time and again to LITTLE SZECHUAN. Specializing in one of the world's spiciest cuisines from the Szechuan province, this restaurant serves our favorite of fried anchovies with peanuts and hot peppers. Even the slightly sour jellyfish salad is palatable here. Chicken dumplings in hot sauce and moo shu vegetables are tops, too, though many people dote on the tofu dishes. We asked Atlanta's most famous new Chinese immigrants, Zoo Atlanta pandas Lun Lun and Yang Yang, to tell us what they think is Atlanta's Best Chinese Restaurant. Their stylish black and white outfits and tony Grant Park address make the duo two of Atlanta's hottest celebs, so we were eager to hear their opinions. Unfortunately, the pandas refused to answer us. When asked about Chinese food, they aloofly looked away and munched on bamboo. It appears that fame has gone to their adorably oversized heads. less...

A popular, well-financed attempt to mate Chinese cookery with name-brand marketing, this is essentially Houston's or Bennigan's with orange-peel chicken. Service and cooking follow the American casual-chain model. Asian-style decorations (stone horses, reproduction landscape paintings) evoke China and the (gong!) mysterious East. The bar can be a lot of fun when there's a wait. The menu features lemon pepper shrimp, Malaysian chicken and Cantonese duck. less...
