? Baby Baby, Cousin Dan (full band), How I Became the Bomb, and Sidney Eloise and the Palms @ Star Bar. $10. 8 p.m.
?
? Baby Baby’s upbeat “fun rock” and Cousin Dan’s electronic party jams swing an ideal one-two punch for a carefree New Year’s Eve blowout. Pop stylings from the overdone ‘80s (How I Became the Bomb) and timeless ‘60s (Sidney Eloise and the Palms) kick off a night of nonstop dancing under the Star Bar’s disco ball.
?
? Clashinista and Smithsonian @ Smith’s Ole Bar’s Music Room. $15-20. 8 p.m.
?
? Local cover bands that recreate the sound and visual aesthetic of the Clash and the Smiths roll back the clock shortly before the Peach Drop beckons a new year.
?
? The Coathangers, Black Linen, Bad Spell, and the Gartrells @ the Earl. $17-20. 9 p.m.
?
? This can’t-miss garage-punk party is anchored by veteran power trio the Coathangers. The band’s stringent touring schedule has made rare local appearances into special events, with or without an alcohol-centric holiday. Rock and soul traditionalists Black Linen, garage purists Bad Spell, and newcomers the Gartrells (members of the Black Lips, Douglas’ Street Team, and Rod Hamdallah) bring fresh sounds and familiar faces to the EAV.

? Funk is the word at Variety Playhouse’s final show of 2015. Denver’s the Motet plays freeform jams and incorporates stage dancing that’ll make the crowd boogie. Like-minded Chicago funksters the Main Squeeze open with jams from sophomore LP Mind Your Head, produced by American Idol’s Randy Jackson.

?
? This year’s free Peach Drop concert at Underground Atlanta was sweetened by the recent addition of T.I. The local trap music legend’s New Year’s resolution may involve building on the momentum of September’s Da’ Nic EP when The Dime Trap drops sometime in 2016.
?

?
