Benoit & Sergio bring immersive techno to the Sound Table

Washington, D.C. by-way-of Berlin duo kicks off Spring series of house and techno sets on Edgewood ave.

Hailing from Washington, D.C., Benjamin “Sergio” Myers and Benoit Simon produce dense and agile dance music for the post-LCD Soundsystem world. The duo’s winding course through minimal but poignant bass experiments, vocal-driven techno, and jazzy movements has graced the discography of hallowed labels such as DFA, Ghostly International’s hard techno offshoot Spectral Sound, Culprit, and Visionquest. The end result is a seductive house-hybrid that speaks to Ricardo Villalobos’ minimal grooves and James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy’s thoughtfully emotive sound.

Benoit & Sergio roll through Atlanta to play the Sound Table, which is gearing up for a slew of solid shows this spring, including sets by Jacques Renault, David Marston, and Young Marco.

Benoit & Sergio. $15-18. 11 p.m. Fri. March 13. The Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave. SE. 404-835-2534.
