Looks like Killer Mike changed his name to the less threatening Mike Bigga just in time. The Grammy-winning rapper, whose new album is due in late March on Grand Hustle, will be making an appearance on MTV’s happy-go-lucky reality show “Made” today at 4 p.m. EST. He’ll be helping a nerdy high school student in Athens, Ga. become a rapper so that he can find the inner-strength to stand up to bullies ... or something.

While we know bullying isn’t really funny, the idea of someone freestyling his way out of a beat down Westside Story-style kinda is. Unless of course you live on 8 Mile. (The look on Mike’s face around the :17 second mark when the kid starts ramble “rapping” is hilarity). It’s MTV, though, so whatever. At least they didn’t go out and get, like, Waka Flocka to assist. Regardless of the show’s sketchy premise, it’s always cool to see “Michael Luther King” getting some much-deserved national shine, especially when he gets to shout out inspirational lines like “until you decide you’re worthy, LEAVE ME ALONE!” to skinny little kids. I just wonder if Mike ever makes the kid scream “Bang! Bang! Bang!” at the top of his lungs — that alone would be worth the admission price.
