ATHFEST — For details, see www.athfest.com. Also see Earshot. downtown Athens (Sarig)

ATLANTA PRIDE FESTIVAL — For details, see www.atlantapride.org. Piedmont Park (Keel)

CEDAR HILL — Long-running local bluegrass outfit Cedar Hill celebrates 25 years of banjos and Donald Duck imitations (care of leader Jim Akins). Current and past pickers and pluckers reunite for the anniversary show, which coincides with the release of the fun-loving band’s 25-track live retrospective CD. Eddie’s Attic (Sarig)

DAMES AFLAME BURLESQUE FEATURING KINGSIZED — Mighty Mike Geier’s Kingsized swing/jazz ensemble provides the music — and his Greasepaint co-conspirator, Jim Stacy, serves as the emcee — during this titillating tease-a-rama, paying tribute to the vintage art of fringe-and-tassel twirling. The pulchritudinous performers include Miss Bella Bellanova, Czarina Natalia, Glampira and Gin-Gin the Wild Woman. Star Bar (Nicoll)

DEEP BLUE SUN — Boasting a unique combination of Peter, Paul and Mary and the Grateful Dead, Deep Blue Sun shows potential on its new Will to Fly CD. The band’s vocals, lyrics and jams, fall somewhere just below outstanding, with extra points for John Marsh’s passionate keys. Atlanta Brewing Company (Mossman)

HOMELESS AID — Popsters Kenny Howes and the Yeah! and Buffalo Nickel frontman Gary Stier headline the second annual benefit for the nonprofit Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless. Those attending are asked to bring a monetary donation or offer clothing or bedding items for men, women and children. Visit www.homelessaid.org for details and directions. 6500 Wright Circle/Sandy Springs (private residence) (Keel)

MODEL$ AND MILLIONAIRE$ BALL — Along with his faux-brothers Scott and Robbie Hardkiss, DJ Gavin Hardkiss introduced the world to San Francisco-based funky tribal breakbeat trance. Expect an eclectic, electrifying mix from him. DJs J-Luv and Lisa Foxxx provide support. Karma (Ware)

THE MOONSHINE KILLERS — As Lenny’s springs up on Memorial Drive in the ashes of much-beloved dive bar Dottie’s, longtime local hillbilly rockers the Moonshine Killers play their final show on its newly refurbished stage. Come say hello and goodbye, respectively. Lenny’s (Sarig)

MOTO-LITAS, MARY PRANKSTER, FEATURES — This delicious alt-pop triple bill begins with an appearance by the Features, whose engaging multimedia shows suggest some weird collision of the Velvets and the Monkees. The headlining Moto-Litas have a sound that evokes vintage Breeders, but with more than a hint of Ultrababyfat’s irreverent squeak. Straddling the middle is Mary Prankster, whose songwriting and cynical good humor is charismatic in spirit but a little too cute at times. The Earl (Nicoll/Hutchinson)

GLENN PHILLIPS — An enduring local music legend who cut his teeth with infamous Hampton Grease Band (and once shared a bill with Jimi Hendrix), Atlanta’s Glenn Phillips remains an astounding guitarist who can still wring seemingly impossible new sounds from his electric ax. Red Light Café (Nicoll)

BOB SCHNEIDER, STEVE POLTZ — Schneider’s been Austin’s golden boy for a few years and his national debut shows promise. An accomplished, diverse singer/songwriter, he molds bits of G. Love, Waits and Costello around his grits-and-honey voice. Opener Poltz is best known for writing a few Jewel songs, but don’t hold that against him. They sound better when he sings ‘em. PlanetJam Cotton Club (Horowitz)

SEKS — Gene Carbonell welcomes European team Parks & Wilson to his progressive house night. Recently heard remixing Dido, Parks & Wilson are best known for their work with John Graham (aka Quivver) as Tilt. This is their first Atlanta appearance, with Carbonell also spinning, while Ecotekh keeps it chill in the Asylum. The Chamber (Ware)

LIBBY WHITTEMORE — Celebrating its one-year anniversary, Libby’s features the chanteuse who named the place. Her smooth vocals rival many of the Broadway performers that frequent the joint, balanced by her anecdotal wry wit that flares up between belting out ballads and show tunes.
