MARY DELANEY — Head of the short-lived Universal People, Mary Delaney is back on her own with a new solo album, American Detox, released with tonight’s show. Over deep keyboard funk reminiscent at times of P-Funk — but measured by a pale production worthy of Consolidated — Delaney outlines a damaged-goods worldview that’s emotionally scarred and perpetually in recovery. It’s clunky and heavy handed at times, but full of good intentions. Live, the eccentric Delaney turns her act into a theatrical multi-media show with video projects and costume changes. Red Light Cafe (Sarig)

MIMI HOLLAND, STEFANIE FIX — Holland celebrates the release of her new album Ripe tonight. The Atlantan is performing with her frequent collaborator, drummer Rocky Linssley. Holland’s confessional and quietly intense material covers a range of often-personal topics, rendered universally appealing by her unique and friendly delivery. Californian Fix’s recent album contains contributions from Bob Dylan’s massive guitar player Larry Campbell and Peter Frampton’s keyboardist Bob Mayo. Eddie’s Attic (Smith)

LIL RASCALS BRASS BAND — Growing up in the same neighborhood as other New Orleans brass band heavyweights like Rebirth and Dirty Dozen, the Lil Rascals bring fresh energy to this geriatric musical tradition. Cast a voodoo spell, hop on the streetcar and wake up in a puddle of your own regurgitated Jell-O shooters, you’re on New Orleans time, Holmes. Smith’s Olde Bar (Hutchinson)
