Sound Menu December 12 2001 Sun
COWBOY ENVY — With the sweetest three-point harmony of any Atlanta vocal group, this trio of buckskin-fringed cowgirls from the Wild West of Decatur could raise a smile on the face of the most cold-hearted Scrooge. 5:30 p.m. all-ages show. Eddie’s Attic (Nicoll)
ROCK IN THE RAW — This first holiday edition of the popular unplugged songwriter-in-the-round series features an intriguing combination of blues/R&B (King Johnson’s Oliver Wood), pop/rock (Soup’s Kevin Crow), along with more typical singer/songwriters (Shawn Mullins’ singer Shelley, Drifting Through’s Randall Kirsch and ex-Ode to Abbey’s Shane Hines), mixing and matching originals and seasonal covers. It should make for an eclectic Sunday night — and the club’s candles add to the cozy atmosphere. Smith’s Olde Bar (Horowitz)
ROGER “HURRICANE” WILSON — No, this isn’t the Hurricane whom Bob Dylan immortalized, but rather the former traffic copter pilot turned bluesman. Come see him play up a storm as he records a live, solo acoustic disc mixing folk and blues standards with originals. The session takes place 4-7 p.m. Chips/Winder (Smith)
