Dance instructions

Music that’s devoted to teaching you step-by-step

Can’t dance? Afraid to show your moves in public? Luckily, there is hope for you. Some music is devoted to instructing you, step-by-step, how to enjoy the beats you love in a safe and simple way. Let’s call it the Hip-Hop Hokey Pokey. The five steps are as follows:

? ?
1) “Stand Up” — Ludacris: Ludacris gets things rolling by getting us up. When he moves, we move (just like that).

? ?
2) “Lean Back” — Terror Squad featuring Fat Joe and Remy: As Fat Joe clearly illustrates, you don’t have to be young and fit to dance. Warm up and lean back.

? ?
3) “Shoulder Lean” — Young Dro featuring T.I.: Part Two of the “leaning” movements. If lower back pain is your problem, worry not. Young Dro explains how, by only moving your shoulder, you, too, can still dance like a pro.

? ?
4) “Shake” — Ying Yang Twins featuring Pitbull: If all else fails and you lose the beat, don’t worry. Just shake. (More than a lean, less than a convulsion.)

? ?
5) “Get Low” — Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz: Not for the faint of heart, the most advanced movement in the series features Lil Jon’s workout masterpiece that instructs the dancer to “bend over to the front, touch your toes; back that ass up and down and get low.”

? ?
So do the Hokey Pokey, get yourself down, that’s what it’s all about.
