Young is the new lil’

Rappers of the same name

Ever since P. Diddy bragged, “I’m young, black and famous” on “Been Around the World,” rap artists aspire to remain forever young. (In that sense, they’re just like the rest of us.) But these days, going out to clubs every night, drinking copious amounts of alcohol and lusting after and having sex with strippers won’t replenish the fountain of youth. So Atlanta’s favorite rappers actually use the word “young” in their names:

??
1) Young Dro: T.I.’s Bankhead partner is best known for his single, “Shoulder Lean.” How wonderful! Everyone knows that dancing not only provides good exercise, but helps keep your spirit young at heart.

??
2) Yung Joc: The upstart behind “It’s Goin’ Down” titled his upcoming album New Joc City, proving he has a strong grasp on history in spite of his youth.

??
3) Young Capone: Kids love to show off. Young Capone is no child, but he still loves the “Lights, Camera, Action.”

??
4) YoungBloodz: J-Bo and Sean Paul are both in their 30s, but you wouldn’t know it from their use of broken English vernacular on 2002’s Drankin’ Patnaz and 2005’s Ev’rybody Know Me.

??
5) Young Jeezy: The ATL street rap star is actually 28. Far from a young’un, his wheezy voice sounds like wind blowing through a rusty old pipe. I wouldn’t say that to his face, though.
