Who are some of your major influences as a DJ? Why?
TED PATTERSON - because he took me under his wing early enough to make a difference; The Italian DJs - CAUDIO CUCCOLUTO, JOE T.VANNELLI, SAVINO MARTINEZ & MR.MARVIN - because their drum & percussion programing is so remarkeable, and they inspire me to make better music.
What artists do you most admire? Why?
DAVID MORALES - because he's DAVID MORALES; TONY HUMPHRIE - because after the thousands of parties he has "rocked" in decades of spinning records he still can't mix to save his life ... but, he plays the most soulful records you'll ever hear; "LITTLE" LOUIE VEGA - because he has the balls to perform as NUYORICAN SOUL, runs his own label and still finds the time to be one of my favorite DJs ... the way he worx a Uri/Bozak mixer should be illegal.
What qualities do you think make for a successful DJ?
There are no qualities in the quotient ... it's all about being in the right place at the right time. Well ... then again ... it helps to have good hearing.
Do you have any pet peeves as a DJ?
DJ's that blame "bad sets" on their equiptment or lack of. You've got to be able to mix under all circumstances for me to even consider you a "DJ." A GOOD D.J CAN MIX ANY TYPE OF MUSIC ... ON ANY MIXER...TO ANY AUDIENCE, PERIOD!
?What do you like about the Atlanta scene?
The amount of beautiful women in atlanta is unbelievable! WHY AM I STILL SINGLE!
What do you think the Atlanta/DJ scene needs?
More faith from the promoters in the local "veterans." Give us a dancefloor ... and WE'LL ROCK THE HOUSE!
Where do you see the Atlanta scene headed?
It seems to be doing well, as of present. I would like to see more support for my record label. At the rate things are going ... the scene should be just as messed up as it is now ... we'll be alright.
