Get jazzed. WRFG 89.3 recently announced its first Community Jazz Awards will be named after the late Paul Mitchell, a highly regarded figure in Atlanta’s jazz scene as an educator, composer, pianist and leader of the longstanding Paul Mitchell Trio. Artists are nominated by their peers in the local jazz community, and a panel of five judges picks the winners in five categories. The ceremony is slated for Sun., June 24, at the Fernbank Museum.
