Caroline Aiken is no longer booking the Hard Rock Café’s Velvet Underground room as previously had been announced. In a press release, Aiken expressed concerns for the sound quality in the venue and decided to back out of the position. As of press time, no replacement has been named.
Back and bigger. The Top of the Tree III battle of the bands series is set for Wednesday nights this summer, beginning June 6, again at CJ’s Landing (270 Buckhead Ave.). Three bands compete weekly for the grand prize of 12 hours of production and recording time at Tree Sound Studios. Additionally, the winner gets a slot on the Locals Only stage at this year’s radio fest Big Day Out. Interested acts should drop off packages at CJ’s marked “Attn.
