This just in: It’s dry out there

The good news is, weather conditions are almost normal for this time of year. The bad news is, it’s not going to help.

According to meteorologists at the U.S. Weather Bureau in Peachtree City, the recent afternoon showers and scattered thunderstorms are standard Southern fare — offering hope to Georgia’s parched farmers and pining lawn-waterers. However, even if the “normal” rainfall continues for the rest of the summer, the state would still be about 12 inches below its normal rainfall level.

What we really need is a big, whopping storm gushing in from the Atlantic.

“Yeah, a tropical system would really make up for it,” says Dean Hutsell, a meteorologist at the bureau. “But it might be too much too quick.”??
