Disabled conference rolls into College Park

During this heated election season, a long-ignored segment of public has become increasingly vocal and visible. The disabled community — enjoying new Internet-related opportunities, and energized by fighting challenges to the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act — have been courted by pols and targeted by an increasing number of marketers.?

This weekend, disabled citizens and advocates, special education teachers, health-care professionals and organizations specializing in serving the needs of the disabled come to Atlanta for the three-day World Congress & Exposition on Disabilities, scheduled for Nov. 10-12 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.?

Some 200 exhibits and 80 educational programs will be offered, and representatives from several major companies including Coca-Cola, BellSouth, Delta Air Lines, Scientific Atlanta and others will be on hand for a career fair Friday and Saturday.
