The whole state needs a good flushing

Newsflash: Atlanta is not the only city in the state with a poopy potty system. In the past month alone, state environmental enforcers slapped 15 municipalities (that means city and county governments) with $279,329 in fines.?

Most of the perpetrators were in dense, urban areas where impervious surfaces (that means roofs, driveways, roads and parking lots) have replaced natural areas that soak up rain, which overwhelms sewer systems and causes sewage spills.?

These governments and others are facing fines for sewage and water pollution violations: Augusta, $43,312; Cobb County, $42,750; DeKalb County, $32,190; sleepy little Canton, $1,800; and Rome $3,937.
