Where is the Atlanta music scene headed in 2006?

??
Robert: More of the same old shit — punk and rock. There isn't a demand for anything else here. But in the underground (not the downtown locale) there's always experimental artists coming up. Places like Lenny's will see a lot more of these artists coming out of Atlanta. But the other clubs just want to make money off the music. It's absolutely depressing. Punk and rock forever.

??
Shannon: A continuing trend in the resurgence of local bands. There's more bands now than there's been in years. Only thing we're missing are clubs, which has always been the case. A lot of bands are getting national exposure and touring non-stop. It's only because we live in Atlanta that everybody has traditionally ignored our music scene which has allowed it to develop without a lot of outside influence so it's stronger.

??
Big Tah: 2005 Atlanta exploded with a lot of urban dance music, not really content. But in 2006, there's going to be more substance and lyrics. Music reflects the sign of the times and what the world is going through. Right now there's a lot of partying, but at some point the music has to reflect what people are going through else there'll be a disconnect between the artist and the audience.
