Go West
Soho continues its Wednesday “Flight Night” program and “West Coast Wine Tour” with various Oregon Pinots from the Rogue and Willamette valleys Aug. 15 (two Pinot Noirs and a Pinot Meunier) and Aug. 22. Samples are served in 3.5-ounce pours. Ay, mate, drink up
Put the scallops on the barbie and get out the corkscrew, this month’s wine dinner at Margie’s Pantry is a sea-themed one featuring wines from Australia. Four courses with four wines begins at 7 p.m. Sun. Aug. 19. The courses include seared scallop salad with roasted summer corn vinaigrette; lobster bisque VSOP; grilled grouper over scallion grits topped with crab butter; and fried ice cream. $46 per person. Canoe continues its third-Thursday wine tastings with “A Comparative Summer Tasting of Old World and New World Wines” Aug. 16 in the restaurant’s gardens by the river 5:30-7:30 p.m. Hors d’ouevres chosen to complement the wines will be served.
