A 35-year-old man was walking down Smith Street after he got off work. A witness saw an 18-year-old man jump out of some bushes and strike the 35-year-old in the head with a bat several times. The 35-year-old fell to the ground. ?
The witness and his girlfriend ran up the street to help the 35-year-old. The 18-year-old ran into a house. ?
Police talked with the 18-year-old, who said the 35-year-old had taken $20 from him. ?
An officer found the bat, which had gray tape on the handle and the words “Skull Cracker” painted on it. ?
The 18-year-old’s mother identified the bat, and said she keeps it in her house. ?
The 18-year-old was charged with aggravated assault. The “Skull Cracker” was turned in as evidence.

An officer was dispatched to an apartment on Center Avenue in response to a fight call. Upon arrival, he spoke with a 19-year-old woman. The officer wrote in his police report: “[The woman] was only half interested in talking to me. The other half of her attention was given to cleaning her apartment. She did state her and her male friend had a fight over reefer.” ?
The woman said after the fight, her boyfriend ransacked her apartment and kicked a hole in the wall. Then, he left. ?
The officer noted, “There were clothes that were cut up by the front door, possibly his clothes. This may have played a part in the incident.”?
The boyfriend wasn’t around to confirm or deny this.

A 40-year-old man called 911 and said he had been car-jacked on Bankhead Highway. The man said at about 1 a.m., he picked up a girl nicknamed Chocolate and took her to her hotel on Fulton Industrial Boulevard. At the hotel, he met two men who asked him for a ride. During the ride, the two men forced him out of his rental car and drove away. ?
The officer spoke with Chocolate, a known prostitute who has been arrested several times. She said the 40-year-old picked her up on Stanton Road and brought her to the hotel. He asked if she had a room at the hotel, and she said no because the man didn’t have any money. ?
Chocolate said the 40-year-old then met a drug dealer nicknamed “Baldhead” and another man. The 40-year-old offered to take Baldhead and the second man to pick up more drugs in exchange for a few hits. ?
After they made the purchase, they stopped to smoke some crack. Baldhead and the second man got the 40-year-old out of the car and drove away. ?
The 40-year-old, who wasn’t hurt, said he had a history of drug abuse and had been out all night. The officer told the 40-year-old to go home and call the car rental office and report the incident.

A male employee of the Ritz-Carlton on Peachtree Road said a fellow employee, a 43-year-old Kennesaw man, cornered him in the hotel lobby. The Kennesaw man started a physical confrontation over his paycheck. ?
The Kennesaw man said he was exempted from paying taxes. The employee disagreed with him. Then, the Kennesaw man proceeded to beat and kick the employee. ?
The employee suffered bruises to the face and body. An officer advised him to take out a warrant against the Kennesaw man.

An officer responded to a fight call at a home on Fletcher Street. When the officer arrived at the scene, he saw a 25-year-old man exit a nearby home. The 25-year-old walked into the street and threw down a plastic bag containing nine “dime” bags of suspected marijuana. ?
The 25-year-old said, “There’s the weed, arrest me.”?
The man was duly arrested for possession of marijuana.
