A 31-year-old Chicago man paid $5 to get into a club on Forsyth Street. Once inside, the man deduced that the club was a strip club. The man said he didn’t realize it was a strip club before he entered and he wanted his $5 back. At the club entrance, a large red sign states “No refunds.” Club employees wouldn’t return the $5. The man insisted that a police officer write up an incident report.

A 51-year-old man from Titusville, Fla., called police during a visit to Atlanta with his family. The man was very upset and scared. He said his two sons, age 22 and 24, were driving him around when an argument broke out about purchasing some property. The sons said they needed their father to sign over some papers to buy a $2 million hotel, and if this wasn’t done, they would kill him. According to the report, the sons let their father exit the car (a 2002 Mercedes S500), but “they also gave assistance by pushing him.” The father wasn’t hurt, though. The family is staying in the top two floors of a Buckhead hotel. For some reason, the father thinks his wife may know about the threats, even though she wasn’t in the car. The man said when he told his wife that he was going to meet with the sons; she acted weird and warned him not to go alone.

A 37-year-old man from Liberty, N.C., was driving his tractor-trailer on Dill Avenue. A man jumped on the side of his truck, reached through the window and grabbed the 37-year-old’s arm. (The truck wasn’t going very fast.) The man demanded money. While this was going on, a second man opened the rear door of the trailer. The 37-year-old tried to steer toward a utility pole, attempting to knock the first man off the side of his truck. The first man reached into the 37-year-old’s shirt pocket and grabbed his cigarettes, a lighter and $42 cash. Then, the men jumped off the truck and escaped by running across some railroad tracks.

A 20-year-old woman said her boyfriend’s sister constantly calls her apartment on Hollywood Road and leaves angry messages. She said the sister dislikes her for some unknown reason and wants her brother to date “anyone else.” The sister was described as 25 years old with long brown hair, a Southern accent and a scar on her right leg.

On Forsyth Street, an officer saw a homeless man standing next to another man on the sidewalk. The homeless man saw the patrol car and quickly stepped away. The officer noticed that the homeless man was holding a plastic bag that contained suspected cocaine. The officer approached the homeless man, who dropped the bag of coke. The officer arrested the homeless man and retrieved the bag of coke, which weighed 12 grams. During arrest, the homeless man said, “Thank you, officer, for locking me up. I was cold and trying to sell the coke to get a hotel room. It’s cold out.” He went to jail.

A 40-year-old woman went to the elementary school on South Alvarado Terrace that her son attends. She cursed the assistant principal in the main office, in front of students and staff. She threatened to slap the assistant principal. She asked what the assistant principal would do if she slapped the hell out of her. She was upset because her son was suspended for fighting. The assistant principal asked the woman to leave the school. She refused, and walked down the hall to a classroom. An investigator went to the woman’s home and told her sister that the woman shouldn’t come to the elementary school for four days. Three days later, the woman went to the school. Police were called, and the woman received a ticket for simple assault and disrupting school.

An officer responded to a call about a suspicious person on Carroll Road. Upon arrival, the officer saw |a 34-year-old woman who fit the description of the suspicious person. The officer ran a computer check, which showed that the woman was wanted for arrest in Cobb County. The officer took her to a location on Paces Ferry Road to release her to the Cobb County Police.

“After waiting for an hour-and-a-half, Cobb County never showed up,” the officer noted. After several calls, the officer finally spoke with someone in Cobb County who said they weren’t going to come get the woman. The officer checked with his supervisor who told him to take the woman to her home.

The manager of a cab company on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard said a caller requested a cab at an apartment on Delmar Lane. The manager sent a cab to the location. A few minutes later, a woman called from Delmar Lane and screamed about the delay because the cab hadn’t arrived yet. The manager said the cab was on its way. A few minutes later, the woman called and complained again. The manager told her to use another cab company. The woman and a man said they were coming to the cab company to hurt the manager. The manager hung up. The calls continued for 20 minutes. The manager told police that he tried to call and cancel the cab that was headed to Delmar Lane, but couldn’t make contact with the driver. The manager told police he would call back later if necessary.

On Boulevard, a 20-year-old woman said another woman asked her for money, so she invited the woman into her apartment for some food. The 20-year-old went to the kitchen to get the food. When she returned to the living room, the woman was gone. Also gone: the 20-year-old’s purse.
