At a convenience store on Campbellton Road, a 36-year-old woman said her friend “Pumpkin” cut her with a piece of glass. They were arguing over a man. The woman had cuts all over her body, but she refused to go to a hospital. She described Pumpkin as a pretty woman with a mustache and hair on her chest. She said Pumpkin got into a car with a man known as “Syracuse” and fled on Campbellton Road. She didn’t know Pumpkin’s real name.

A hair stylist at a salon on Oak Street said a frequent customer walked out without paying for her hair services. The customer was described as a middle-aged woman with a Southern accent and her hair styled in finger waves. The stylist told the customer to stay put because she was leaving to get something to eat. Thirty minutes later, the stylist returned — but the customer was gone. The stylist called the customer and asked why she left. “You took too long,” the customer yelled. The stylist asked when she would get her money for the hairdo. “Never,” the customer said. The stylist said finger waves cost $45, and she planned to take out a warrant.

A 36-year-old man said he was working his first day at a restaurant on Peachtree Road. He said a male manager came up and “palmed” him. He said the manager grabbed his behind and pushed him on the prep table, and held him down for several seconds. The 36-year-old said he was so shocked and embarrassed that he didn’t know what to do. He said the kitchen crew just laughed, and the manager said he thought the 36-year-old was someone else. The 36-year-old said he has tried to talk to upper management, but wasn’t successful until the day he called police. An officer went to the restaurant on Peachtree Road. He found no witnesses to the incident. A manager said the 36-year-old works for the sister restaurant located on Lenox Road. The 36-year-old had come to the Peachtree location to pick something up. No further information.

A 36-year-old man was driving down Sylvan Road when he saw a man standing on the side of the road. He said he didn’t know the man, but he stopped and picked him up. He took the man to a location on Sylvan Circle to drop him off. They got into a fight, during which the suspect got into the 36-year-old’s car and left. The car is a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird. The 36-year-old said he thought he knew the man in high school, but wasn’t sure. He did not know why he stopped to pick up the man.

Around noon, an officer was patrolling Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. The officer saw a man pushing a shopping cart “full of unusual items.” He pushed the cart down the sidewalk, “blocking pedestrian traffic,” the officer wrote. Then the man pushed the cart into the street, which impeded cars. The cart contained the following items: one large doghouse, two used car batteries and four large bags of aluminum cans. The man was charged with violation of pedestrian duties and taken to jail.

A 22-year-old woman on Meador Road said her live-in boyfriend got mad because she wouldn’t let him use her cell phone. So the boyfriend stormed out of the house and threw a brick through her car windshield.

A 36-year-old Douglasville man said he was out one night in Atlanta and had too much to drink. Also, he was driving his father’s car, a 1988 Acura Integra. So he parked the car on Bolton Road and went to sleep. He woke up to the sound of a man and woman tapping on the car window. The couple said it was not a good idea to be sleeping out here. They offered to take the man back to their house on Bolton Road, so he could get some rest. The man went to their house and got some more sleep. When he woke up, his father’s car had vanished. He didn’t know the couple’s first or last names.

A cashier at a convenience store on Ponce de Leon Avenue said a man took two bottles of Windex glass cleaner and a box of vanilla cookies, and tried to leave without paying. Another employee approached the man, who whipped out a screwdriver and made threats. As the man turned to leave, both employees tackled him and took him down in the parking lot. During the struggle, the man’s chin was cut. Then the man regained his footing and took off. Police searched the area and found the man two blocks away. Blood was dripping from his chin, and he was still clutching the box of cookies. The man, age 50, was jailed for shoplifting.

On Luckie Street, a 27-year-old man was ticketed for selling steak, chicken and other food items from an SUV without the necessary permits.

A 31-year-old woman advertised herself as an escort on an Internet website. An undercover investigator contacted her, and they arranged to meet at a hotel. The woman wore a red dress, silver sandals, and had a heart tattooed on her leg. She requested and received $300 cash, and started to give the investigator a massage. She was arrested for “escorting without a permit” and “massaging without a permit.”
