A 29-YEAR-OLD Atlanta man and his girlfriend broke up. The next day, the ?
25-year-old Atlanta woman called the man and asked him to meet her in an apartment complex parking lot. A friend of the man drove him to the meeting place and the woman led her ex-boyfriend into the woods where several men jumped out and beat him up. The woman ran away and a short time later, the beaten man emerged from the woods and his friend drove him home. ?
Later, the two men left the man’s apartment and were driving away when they saw his assailants standing on the side of the road. The assailants pulled out pistols and shot at the vehicle and struck the man in the side. The friend drove the man to a nearby grocery store where employees called the police and an ambulance. ?
Two days later, the police arrived at the woman’s apartment and she was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of marijuana, which was found in her apartment.
A police officer saw a vehicle swerving while traveling on Roswell Road. ?
The officer pulled over the car and asked the driver, a 43-year-old Decatur man, for his license and insurance. The man said he had neither and the officer told the man to step out of the vehicle. The man said he couldn’t get out of the car because he wasn’t wearing any pants. ?
The drunken man eventually stepped out of the car and nearly lost his balance. He was given a field sobriety test and failed. He was placed under arrest and the passenger, a 37-year-old Atlanta woman, was asked to get out of the vehicle. ?
The officer searched the car and found several small bags of cocaine and a small crack rock under the passenger’s seat. The woman denied knowledge of the cocaine, but the officer later found a crack pipe and a Brillo pad in the woman’s purse. ?
The man was charged with DUI, possession of cocaine, driving without a license and no proof of insurance. The woman was charged with possession of cocaine.
A 25-year-old woman was in her apartment on Glenridge Drive watching television with her friends when she noticed a strange shadow in the window. When she looked closer, she saw that it was a video camera on a string. ?
Her upstairs neighbors allegedly lowered it from their balcony and were recording her and her friends. She walked onto the porch in time to see the camera quickly ascending into the upstairs apartment.
An Atlanta man saw someone stealing a bike from a neighbor’s back porch. The man ran after the thief, who dropped the bike and ran away. The man then reported the incident to the police and gave a description of the man. ?
An officer later saw a man matching the description walking a bike down the street. The officer stopped the man and told him to put his hands on the hood of the car. ?
The officer was frisking the man when he turned and pushed the policeman and ran. The officer tackled the man and handcuffed him. A knife and a small amount of marijuana was found on the man. He then was taken to the neighbor’s apartment and identified as the bicycle thief. The man admitted to stealing the bike from another apartment and it was returned. ?
The man was charged with theft, obstruction, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.
A 37-year-old Alpharetta man had allowed a family friend, a 78-year-old Loganville man, to live in his house. The older man moved out in June and came back to the house with four other men to move his things. ?
The Alpharetta man asked the older man about money the roommate owed, but he was ignored. The younger man followed the family friend into the house. The older man walked into a closet and shut the door while the other man kept asking for his money. ?
Then the older man opened the closet door and pointed a shotgun at his former roommate’s head and said, “I’m not paying nothing and I’ll kill you if I have to!” ?
The 78-year-old man held the younger man and his wife at gunpoint while the four men loaded his belongings onto a truck. When the younger man saw his chance, he grabbed the shotgun, pushed the family friend to the ground and called the police.
