Bar Review - The rooftop at Maxim Prime Atlanta

Drinks with a view

THE SCENE: Located on the rooftop of the Glenn Hotel, the bar boasts a picturesque 360° view of the Atlanta skyline. Swank modern sectionals underneath massive umbrellas and high bar tables adjoin the glass-lined perimeter of the roof.

THE CHICKS: Attentive servers in skimpy black dresses live up to the Maxim aesthetic.

THE DRINKS: Refreshing but pricey. Mint juleps ($14) are made with Woodford Reserve. If you’ve got cash to burn and friends to impress, check out the punch bowls. The “pink punch” ($150), mixes pink vodka, muddled strawberries, fresh lime and rose champagne.

THE CROWD: A mix of hip hotel guests, groups of upwardly mobile young people, tourists and in-the-know locals seeking a cocktail with a view.

THE MUSIC: On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m., live musicians perform the “Sunset Sessions.” On other evenings, DJs spin a mix of tunes.

HINT: Call ahead. The bar is often closed for private events.
