News - Money for Nothing: Beautifying Atlanta

Park Pride is offering matching grants of up to $500 for Atlantans working to improve local parks. Use the money to build a flowerbed, plant trees, install benches or paint dilapidated buildings. Applicants must be part of a neighborhood group of five or more people, and projects must be located in a park or public greenspace smaller than 60 acres within the city of Atlanta. Note that 12 of the city’s 26 Neighborhood Planning Units have not applied for the grant; if you live in one of those NPUs and have a park project idea, contact your NPU chair to propose applying for the grant. Poposals must be submitted by March 15.

For more info on obtaining a Park Pride grant and to print an application, visit www.parkpride.org/micro.html, or call 404-817-6760.
