News - fight midtown traffic

The Midtown Neighbors Association’s new committee on traffic will meet Fri., June 3, from 7:45-9 a.m. The group, which met last month with city traffic engineers, is hoping to tackle some of the problems caused by congestion and aggressive drivers, including parking and pedestrian woes. The association also is looking to gather information from Midtowners, including photos and/or stories of traffic problems. The group will discuss the viability of parking permits to decrease congestion in the famously clogged neighborhood, as well as the need to press the Atlanta Police Department to more stringently enforce speed limits and other laws that protect pedestrians.

The location of the Midtown Neighbors Association’s traffic committee meeting will be posted on its website, www.midtownatlanta.org. For more info or to submit examples of Midtown traffic problems or remedies, e-mail midtownatlantatraffic@yahoo.com or call 404-875-0342.
