Cover Story: Atlanta’s 11 Least Influential People - 2006

Our second annual homage to the ineffectual, the underachieving, and the consistently unappreciated

List journalism is hot. Jezebel publishes an annual ranking of the 50 Most Beautiful Atlantans. Georgia Trend puts out a list of the 40 most influential locals under the age of 40. And Atlanta’s own Waste Age magazine names the 100 top players in the solid-waste industry.

CL is in on the game, too. Every year, we publish a “Best Of” issue, as well as a variety of other “favorites” lists.

As much as we enjoy heaping praise on Atlanta’s achievers, however, we’d also like to give props to the little people. Some are admirable, such as Pootah, who tried to get young people involved in an election. Some are deplorable, such as the state lawmaker who wouldn’t give up on a rather dubious dream. Another is so cute that I would hug him — if I wasn’t afraid he’d eat my face.

But one thing about them is universal: Try as they might, they just ain’t getting it done. Behold, our second annual list of Atlanta’s 11 Least Influential People:
