Now there's a way to choose wine that's better than simply going by which bottle has the prettier label. Atlanta's Wine Insite Inc. has developed an in-store interactive computer system to give people personalized wine recommendations while they're shopping. Set your parameters for price, color, varietal and/or food pairing. Give it a try at eatZi's in Buckhead through April 15. 3221 Peachtree Road. 404-237-2266. www.eatzis.com. www.wineinsite.com.
Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville helps take the chill off with its Winter Wine Series when general manager Euan McGlashan travels the world via bottle. You've already missed the Americas, but jump aboard for Europe (Jan. 26), Africa (Feb. 9) and Australia (Feb. 23). Chef Charles Vosburgh prepares a four-course dinner to complement each wine destination. Wine series package: $395 per couple includes accommodations, breakfast and the wine dinner (tax and service not included). Dinner only: $95 per person includes wine, tax and service. 597 Barnsley Gardens Road, Adairsville. 770-773-7480. www.barnsleyresort.com.
