With the recent creation of the Barrelman Wine Club, an endeavor between the same-named gourmet shop and its next-door sister, ENO, anyone can become a wino. With membership starting at $30 a month, the club offers free bottles of vino, monthly wine tastings, discounts galore (even on rent space in Barrelman's 3,000-bottle wine cellar), advance notice on cooking classes, wine workshops and the privilege to write in ENO's wine tasting log. If you haven't been to an Agave dinner, what are you waiting for? Chef/owner Jack Sobel prepares great food and pairs it with good wines for a night of casual elegance. This month features wines from Foris Vineyards in Oregon. First, acquaint yourself with the Gewurtztraminer. Follow with Yellowfin tuna tartare with the Pinot Gris. Enjoy a lush ensalada of organic greens while taking in a glass of Pinot Noir. Then, try the grilled chile and herb-encrusted hand-cut veal chop and a Cabernet Franc.
