Miracle in a Glass
And no, it’s not the usual miracle of inebriation. No, Kroger at Ansley Mall hosts the first Miracle in a Glass fund raiser for Children’s Miracle Network (a national, nonprofit organization that generates funds for local children’s hospitals) Fri., July 12. More than 100 wines will be available to sample at SciTrek Museum located at 395 Piedmont Ave. 6-9 p.m. Admission passes are available in the Kroger Ansley wine department and at the customer service desk at 1700 Monroe Drive for a donation of $25 or more.

Yummy Yalumba
Taste wine from Australia’s oldest family-owned winery when Yalumba Vineyard of Australia hits L5P with a Bang Tues., July 16. Hors d’oeurvres included. $15 per person. 6-8:30 p.m. 1126 Euclid Ave. 404-223-5039.

The French Connection
Act fast, Barton & Guestier’s French Connection Tour in conjunction with the Wine Brats organization hits Atlanta favorite Mumbo Jumbo Wed., July 10. Travel around the room and “visit” the regions of Loire, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhône and Languedoc — and receive souvenir postcards featuring each visited region. Get On The Bus
Here To Serve Restaurants hosts its second Progressive Wine Dinner featuring Beaulieu Vineyards Winery, Mon., July 15. Start the evening at Goldfish (4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road) at 6 p.m. with BV Winemaker Scott Calhoun and tasty hors d’oeuvres including seared tuna herb crusted with sesame crisps, baked mussels, and foie gras toast served with BV Napa Sauvignon Blanc.

At 6:45 p.m., the luxury bus rolls to Buckhead (wines to be served on each bus trip) and stops at Prime for wood-grilled lamb loin with fresh arugula, roquefort cheese, sun dried cranberries and a port-balsamic reduction paired with BV Bezeaux.

From Prime, walk to Tom Tom at Lenox Square, for a main course of whole-grain mustard-crusted beef tenderloin paired with BV Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.

Board the bus once again and head to Noche in Virginia-Highland for walnut and sultana ice cream with roasted fruits paired with BV Muscat. Then it’s back on board and back to Goldfish to call it a night. $90 per person (plus tax and tip). For reservations or more information, call 404-364-9360.
