See & Do - Holiday: Celtic Christmas Concert December 08 2009

Fri., Dec. 11

If you’re sick of hearing “Jingle Bells” or perhaps a proudly born-and-bred Appalachian, Emory presents an alternative to the repetitive “White Christmas” radio play. The 17th annual ATLANTA CELTIC CHRISTMAS CONCERT presents all the popular Scotch-Irish traditional staples – songs, poetry, stories and dance – in a performance that would make Michael Flatley plaid with envy. James Flannery directs and hosts the three-night concert, complete with kilts. Through Dec. 13. $10-$25. Fri.-Sat., 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 p.m. Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts, 1700 N. Decatur Road. 404-727-5050. www.arts.emory.edu.
