Autism is something we're only recently coming to understand, but one thing is clear: Being autistic in no way precludes one from rocking. THE SUPERHERO SHOWDOWN is a benefit for Blake Myer's new film, Disabled But Able to Rock, which documents the life of autistic musician and performance artist Betsy Goodrich, aka Danger Woman. There will be a preview of the film, a costume contest for best superhero, and performances by Danger Woman's band, Blast-Off Burlesque and the Selmanaires. $10. 9 p.m. Vinyl, 1374 W. Omnivore - Morningside's Chef Eyester causes Widespread Panic (dinner) Article

When I heard that Food 101 Morningside is planning for an April 29 Widespread Panic tribute dinner, my first thought was that I needed to stay the hell away. When I was in high school, WP coming to town meant that the cops were out in full force arresting all my friends.
Since I've looked at the menu, however, I think it might be time for those wounds to heal. And I think ribs and whiskey...
