Benefit
Along with teaching us to be environmentally conscious, Captain Planet also shows the world that you can have a sweet, green mullet and still fight evil. On DEC. 8, the Captain Planet Foundation hosts its 12th annual PARTY TO SAVE THE PLANET, the Southeast's largest environmental fundraiser. The foundation encourages environmental awareness among children through more than 500 projects worldwide. This year's party includes a fashion show, silent auction, organic foods and late-night dancing (perhaps with special guests Ted Turner and Philippe Cousteau). $100-$500. 9 p.m. Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. 404-522-4260. www.xmasparty.org. www.captainplanetfdn.org.
