?Rock in a hard placeIt looks like 99X’s summer concert series is headed to Underground Atlanta, according to sources at the venue. A still-pending deal would bring six major shows to the tiered plaza at Underground’s northern edge, starting in July, with Velvet Revolver as the headlining kick-off act.

99X promotions director Shawnessy Renegar, however, declined to discuss the details. “I can’t confirm or deny anything at this time,” she said, “except to say we’ve been in negotiations with several potential venues.”

Mills rushed to hospitalR.E.M. bassist Mike Mills was rushed to a hospital last week in the U.K. He collapsed backstage an hour before the band was scheduled to perform in Sheffield, forcing the band to cancel the gig. A spokesperson for the group said, “Mike could hardly stand up, let alone play.” Mills told doctors he experienced severe flu symptoms and loss of balance. He was diagnosed as suffering from an ear infection. Singer Michael Stipe and guitarist Peter Buck explained the situation to the waiting crowd and offered a brief acoustic set as consolation. The concert by the Athens rockers has been rescheduled for June 15.??
