Dish, Dirt and Drivel - Hip-Hop Roller-Skating Flick?

Movie Talk: Dirt hears through the grapevine that renowned music video director Chris Robinson, who has worked with everyone from Alicia Keys to Mary J. Blige to Jay-Z to P. Diddy, has inked a deal to make his directorial film debut right here in the ATL. The yet-untitled feature will be a musical comedy set in an Atlanta hip-hop roller-skating rink. Filming is slated for this summer. No word yet on who will be joining the ensemble cast, though Will Smith and TLC member and Atlanta homegirl T-Boz are among its producers.

CELEB TALK: American Pie star Chris Klein was seen dining with friends at Midtown’s Spice last Friday night. The actor ordered a meaty dish of andouille sausage and shrimp-stuffed pork chops. No word on why Klein was in town, but Dirt wouldn’t be surprised if he just wanted to get out of the spotlight. In February, Klein was arrested and later pleaded guilty to a drunk driving charge. This, after he and longtime girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes, called off their engagement — and is now reported to be dating Tom Cruise. Ouch!

Restaurant Talk: Michael Arnette, owner of Brookhaven hot spot Haven, will open Mix, also in the Village Park Place complex on Dresden Drive, in late June. As seems to be the trend lately, Mix will feature small plates with an emphasis on Italian cuisine. But the real draw will be an expansive lounge and extensive wine list.

GAME TALK: West Coast chart-topper the Game was posted up in Justin’s on May 9 for Martini Mondays. Wearing all red, the Compton rapper — as well known for his brief beef with New York phenom 50 Cent as he is for blazing singles like “Hate It or Love It” and “Dreams” — chilled at the eatery for a few hours. Game was in town for the How the West Was One Tour with Snoop Dogg and Atlanta’s own Oowee. Also in the house was singer Vivian Green, promoting her latest album, Vivian, to be released June 28.
