Beyond the Rainbow Savannah-based performer

Savannah-based performer Natasha Drena taps into the musical stylings of Judy Garland in Beyond the Rainbow at Roswell’s Georgia Ensemble Theatre (April 5-22) in a six-actor musical play that spans the legendary performer’s life and times.</
1) 40 Oz. to Freedom by Sublime: “The group’s first album only gets better with age. A perfect blend of ska, funk, reggae and hip-hop, you can pop it in and drive without ever having to skip a track.”</
2) Devil’s Playground: “Directed by Lucy Walker, this documentary opens your eyes to the trials of Amish teenagers while on their ‘Rumspringa.’ It’s brilliant, heartbreaking and extremely educational.”</
3) “Day Break”: “First off, I am addicted to ABC.com — no one else can touch their online video. ‘Day Break’ was a great ABC series that just didn’t make it through the first season. The actors are great, the relationships are interesting and the plot just twists and turns in new and interesting ways.”</
4) Empire Falls: “Richard Russo’s fantastic novel depicts an ordinary man who accomplishes great things. It’s a great gift — and better than the movie.”</
5) Proof by David Auburn: “Read the play, see the movie, just don’t miss it. It has intrigue, humor and fantastic characters.”</
6) Judy at Carnegie Hall: “No entertainer today can touch [Judy Garland] as a performer. She brings them to their feet with ovations again and again, screaming for more after she sings 26 songs in one evening.”
