A 92 year old woman dead. Two police officers convicted of manslaughter. APD morale possibly at an all time low. All very tragic. All just part of another day in the useless drug war.

GriftDrift at Drifting Through The Grift (a tongue-twister even when you're typing it) on the guilty pleas of two of the cops involved in the killing of 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston last November.

people always SAY they are open to a discussion, but they really aren’t. most people who are talking about politics want only to argue and attack so i stay away from it here.

James at Arc of Time, on why he doesn't want to discuss politics on his blog.

First of all, LB and I are having a killer 12-hour long "Cry Tough Metal Bash" during the Inman Park Festival. The RSVPs are in the multi-hundreds right now but there's still time to get in on the fun if you want to check it out.

— If you're not busy, Cashton at Confessions of a Music Addict is having a party this weekend that promises to be "metal as fuck."
