’’CHASING MAVERICKS (PG): Based on the true story of surfing legend Jay Moriarity, this film follows a young surfer’s dream of riding the biggest wave in the world. Jay, who struggles to find himself growing up without a dad, earns the right to mentor under a local veteran surfer. As Jay trains to ride the wave of his life, he has to shake the doubters and haters to make his dream come true.
’’CLOUD ATLAS (R) 3 stars: This film adaptation of British author David Mitchell’s 2004 novel with the same name is built on the question of how the past interacts with the present and the future. Told over six different time spans, this film unfolds six stories of characters interacting with varying representations or forms of themselves throughout time. As the character’s struggle to make sense of the situations they find themselves in, they can’t help but feel they’ve faced these struggles before. With the Wachowski directors (The Matrix series) behind this film, it’s sure to light up cinema screens.
’’SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D (R): Heather Mason has been running from demons that have plagued her nightmares her entire life. Her father tells her they’re just dreams, but Heather can’t seem to shake the feeling these nightmares are all to real. One day, Heather returns from school to find her father gone and the words ‘Return to Silent Hill’ written on the wall. Heather now must return to the dreaded Silent Hill and face her nightmares head on if she ever wants to see her father alive again.

SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN (PG-13): This documentary searches for answers surrounding the mysterious rocker who simply went by ‘Rodriguez.’ His music, which was a smash hit abroad in South Africa amongst the youth rebelling against apartheid, is all that remains of the legend today.
