OK, Bad Habits readers, today is the launch of a new daily blog on Bad Habits called Daddy Needs New Shoes. I am a gambling addict and a sports junkie, so naturally I bet on sports daily. I win, I lose, I cry, I cheer ï¿½ I cannot guarantee that my picks will work all the time, but I will guarantee that thereï¿½s reason behind them beyond ï¿½I like the color of their uniforms.ï¿½ Everyday from now on at 5:30 p.m. EST, I will post my three favorite bets of the night and explain why I like them.

Bets for tonight:

1) Duke +2.5 at Georgia Tech

‘’Duke has won 20 of the last 21 times theyï¿½ve played, and anytime Duke is getting points, Iï¿½ll take it. Plus, they lost their last game and Duke doesnï¿½t lose two games in a row ï¿½ it just doesnï¿½t happen.

2) Miami Heat +1 at Seattle

Both of these teams have been struggling lately, but Seattle played last night so they should be tired. And in any game with a ï¿½1/+1 spread, itï¿½s essentially a pick ï¿½em, in which case you go with the team who has the best player; the Miami Heat win that battle with Dwyane Wade.

3) L.A. Lakers and Houston Rockets __over 195

‘’L.A. has been lighting up the scoreboard in their last few games scoring well over 100 points a night (118, 101, 123, 132 and 104 in their last five games), and although Houston is a strong defensive team, anytime Kobe and T-Mac step on the same floor, it should be a shoot-out.
