Daddy Needs New Shoes January 22 2007

January 22, 2007

Record thus far: 13-12-2

In an attempt to save face and protect a winning record, Daddy laid off the bets this weekend. After crying myself to sleep last night realizing either Peyton Manning or the Chicago Bears, both of whom I dislike, will win a Super Bowl, I woke up refreshed and ready to bet. In honor of Carmelo Anthony rejoining my Denver Nuggets after a 15-game suspension, Im going all NBA tonight, baby! By the way, just a hunch not worth betting on 100 Proof is going home in tonights episode of VH1s The (White) Rapper Show, or at least I hope so.

1) Charlotte Bobcats +9 at Toronto Raptors

Both of these teams have been overachieving of late, but the Bobcats have become my new favorite underdog, and theyve rarely steered me wrong. The Bobcats have surprisingly won five of their last seven as well as three straight on the road. If they lose, it shouldnt be by double digits. When all else fails, believe in the power of Adam Morrisons creepy appearance (pictured at right) to ward off defenders and make it easier for him to score.

2) Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers __OVER 182 points

‘’Both Orlando and Cleveland have been getting into high-scoring battles recently, either giving up or scoring well over 100 points in eight of their last 10 games combined. Cleveland is playing at home for the first time in six games and will be looking to fill it up on their own floor. Orlando isnt exactly an offensive powerhouse, especially when workhorse Dwight Howard struggles as he has been. That being said, the total has gone over in four of Orlandos last five games.

3) Minnesota Timberwolves +7 at Utah Jazz

‘’Minnesota got their asses handed to them over the weekend, losing by almost 30 points to the Phoenix Suns. Compound their desire for vindication with an angry Kevin Garnett, who was suspended for that Suns game for fighting, and the T-Wolves should be a formidable opponent tonight. Utah is playing good ball, but historically they struggle against Minnesota, losing six of the last seven. Last time these two teams met, Minnesota prevailed at home by a score of 110-103.

Please bet responsibly, although I probably wont.’’
