Weekend Arts Agenda: Westside Art Walk on Saturday March 20 2009
The Westside Arts District (WAD) celebrates its second monthly art stroll tomorrow, starting at 11 a.m. at Kiang Gallery. After an optimistic reaction to last month’s event, the district — including Octane Coffee Bar and Lounge and seven participating galleries — plans to host the event the third Saturday of each month.

Garrett B. Stanley, Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech University and Emory University “Art and the Brain: How We See”.
Dr. Garrett B. Stanley, Associate Professor Department of Biomedical Engineering Georgia Institute of Technology & Emory University, will discuss how we see; how information about the outside visual world is encoded in the visual pathway of the brain and how that informs the challenges and opportunities an artist has in creating visual experiences. Gallery open from 11am to 5pm.

Ben Roosevelt will discuss his recent exhibition currently on view at Get This! Gallery.
___ is not always a bad thing. is Ben Roosevelt’s first solo exhibition with Get This! The exhibit will feature new works including large mixed media installations. Ben Roosevelt is an Atlanta based artist and was the recipient of the 2007-2008 Forward Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award. Gallery open from 11am to 5pm.
