Weekend arts agenda: Turning Japanese, tastefully May 22 2009

The next two openings at Inman Park’s Whitespace Gallery both have something to do with Japan. Although I’m sure that observation sounds rather pedestrian, like 1+1=2, it gains a more depth once you consider the fact that at least two other exhibitions in town are the work of Japanese photographers: Ayano Hisa at Naomi Silva Gallery and Masao Yamamoto at Jackson Fine Art.

And if you recall, the latter was actually part of a Japanese double feature, although the other half of that show closed earlier this month. Coincidence? Perhaps.

Check out the reception for Scott Silvey’s Civic Remedies at Whitespace Gallery tonight, May 22 from 7-10 p.m.
