The Atlanta Photography Group will be showcasing photo work from 25 artists, selected by Whitespace Gallery’s Susan Bridges. The exhibition, Undiscovered Territory, is a celebration of exploration for photographers. The idea is that the travels, adventures, and moments inspired by the photogs’ varied curiosities will be on display through Aug. 15. There’s an opening reception Fri., July 10, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Call it “America According to Ron Swanson.” Actor and humorist Nick Offerman is coming to SCADshow for a Q&A, and reading of his book, Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America’s Gutsiest Troublemakers. ? FRIDAY Aside from having one of the best laughs in the ATL, Michi Meko is also a damn-fine artist, and apparently the folks at Alan Avery Art Company agree. Meko’s latest solo exhibition, Pursuit: Almost Drowned, keeps in line with the artist who the gallery says has, “constantly probed and reflected on stereotypes that are assumed, all the while, probing historical reference as to why they exist.” Pursuit: Almost Drowned will be on display through Aug. 8, with an opening reception Fri., July, from 7-10 p.m.

? >> Actor’s Express is bringing John Larson’s musical, Rent, to life. Freddie Ashley will be holding down the directorial duties, and the production also features Jeremiah Parker Hobbs, who is headed to NYC, to bring some attention back to ATL’s theater scene. Opening night is Fri., July 10, at 8 p.m., and the show runs through July 31. Tickets here.

Since June 19, The Future Is Now, a four-artist exhibition comprised of works from Jason Kofke, Sloane Bibb, Wesley Terpstra, and Alex Leopold, has been on display at Westside’s Kai Lin Art Gallery. ? >> Also, Sat., July 11, is the opening of MINT Gallery’s annual Leap Year Applicant Exhibition. The show features works from the 21 applicants from the gallery’s 2015/16 Leap Year ​Artist Program. The exhibition will be up through July 25, with an opening reception from 7-10 p.m.

? >> True Colors Theatre’s production of Chasin’ Dem Blues, written and directed by Kevin Ramsey, opened earlier this week.
