Weekend Arts Agenda: Flux Night and ‘Structures and Anomalies’ November 05 2015
And local artist Amandine Drouet presents a new installation at Made Again.
?Finally the rain has stopped, or at least, we hope so. Flux Night is coming to the streets of Old Fourth Ward this Sat., Nov. 7, from 7 p.m.-midnight. Curated by Nato Thompson, this year’s outdoor gallery will be under the theme of “Dream” — inspired by the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. It’s the first time Old Fourth Ward hosts Flux Night and best of all, it’s free. So, fill yourself up with chili at Cabbagetown’s annual Chomp ‘n Stomp and then come out for the performances and installations by local and international artists.

? >> Made Again hosts artist Amandine Drouet’s new installation on Thurs., Nov. 5. Originally from France, Drouet is now based out of Atlanta and uses recycled materials as inspiration for her artworks and 3-D sculptures. The opening reception starts at 7 p.m.

? >> dK Gallery hosts the opening reception for Holly Irwin’s new show, Mademoiselle, on Fri., Nov. 6. Featuring a new series of figure paintings inspired by the life and work of Coco Chanel. The opening reception runs from 5-9 p.m.

? >> Featuring Jaynie Crimmins and Stacie Rose, Structures and Anomalies opens at Kibbee Gallery this Fri., Nov. 6. The group show explores “issues of temporality and contemplation and permanence and ethereality.” The reception goes from 6-10 p.m.

? >> Kai Lin Art Gallery presents Atlanta Printmakers Studio’s Print Biennial, an international juried exhibition of hand pulled prints and works on paper, on Fri., Nov. 6, from 7-10 p.m. Also on display, Cuban-born printmaker Carlos Delgado’s solo show, featuring a suite of photogravure prints etched from copper plate onto Pescia paper.

? >> The Atlanta Printmakers Studio’s exhibition at the Chastain Arts Center closes this Thurs., Nov. 5. The closing reception will be from 5:30-8 p.m. The group show “examines the diversity in printmaking and varied approaches of using the medium.” Featuring Craig Cameron, Terri Dilling, Steve Dininno, Kathy Garrou Jerushia Graham, Susan Ker-Seymer, and many more.
