Weekend Arts Agenda: Locally Brewed serves up film, comedy, and music February 11 2016

Plus, highly touted multimedia artist Juliana Huxtable brings the party to the Mammal Gallery.

Atlanta filmmakers Joey Molina and Peter Akeley have teamed up to bring Locally Brewed, a film screening showcase, featuring stand-up comedy and live music, to 368 PONCE on Fri., Feb. 12, starting at 7:30 p.m. 

Hosted by comedian Dedrick Flynn, the first-time event features 16 original short films by Chuck BallardThomas BellAkil BjornEd DinzoleJohn ManfrediMelissa MoonErin MurrayLev OmelchenkoMax SicilianoRemington SmithPete ThoughAdam WaldorfWesley WalkerJen West, and Bruce Williams.

Stick around for the comedy shows, featuring: Ian Aber, Olive Lynch, and William Miracle, and rock out with Atlanta-based band, Cinema Novo (above). Audience members can also enjoy complementary tea from Golda Kombucha

“We thought it would be a great opportunity for up and coming filmmakers to show their work and have a chance to shout out any upcoming projects,” Molina says. “We also wanted to open up the event to more than just film by having comedians and live music to make it a more fulfilling experience about film and video.”

While Huxtable will be headlining with her DJ performance, the multimedia show also displays visual art by sculptor Pastiche Lumumba and graphic artist Alessandra Hoshor. Check out the highly regarded show from 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
