24:' 12-2 p.m.

The last few hours of “24” are barreling ahead towards next week’s 2 hour season finale. In the last two episodes we have seen Jack gut, blow torch, saber, and kidnap bad guys and ex-presidents. For a show that has developed its following based on shock value and suspense it seems reasonable to assume that these episodes are going to culminate in a final blow out like we have never seen. Or, we may be just a little bit disappointed. Over at the “LOST” blogs everyone is carrying on about how no answers will be good enough and the show as a whole will be forever tarnished because of an unsatisfying series finale. Despite my waffling cynicism about this Season 8 of “24” it looks like the writers may just pull off one hell of a show stopper.

Unlike the series’ previous prophetic characters and situations, Day 8 is playing out more... | more...

One of the things that has always made “24” such a dynamic show is the ability of the writers to create some of the best political power struggles in prime time. As the series winds to a close (6 hours and a movie left!), some seasons-old battles come to the surface and new conflicts emerge.

It is certainly no kind of profound revelation that “24” has always been a pretty testosterone packed show where only Jack Bauer could save us from the terrorist filled world. Not to get all Feministe on you guys, but the ladies are generally either there to show us that:

a) No matter how strong of a female character they may be, the women in Jack’s personal...

Two hours of “24” is something that I truly look forward to every season. Without a doubt, you can expect to see any number of double crossings, tension building bomb deadlines, Jack attacks, and if we are lucky, blast-from-the-past characters from seasons prior. While we were only given three out of four, I have to start this week’s recap with an OMG!!1! from next...
