The Walking Dead’ season 5 trailer released

Mr. Grimes goes to Washington!

“No matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe.”

The quote above comes from everyone’s favorite sheriff-turned zombie apocalypse-leading throat biter, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Released at Comic-Con, the full trailer for season 5 of “The Walking Dead” is long and offers a glimpse into the future and what’s on tap for our ragtag band of survivors.

Last month, Robert Kirkman, the man behind The Walking Dead comics, joked that the Sun., Oct. 12, premiere would answer plenty of questions that arose after the season 4 finale. Oh yea, there was also that whole thing where Kirkman said Daryl (Norman Reedus) would die. Being that our favorite crossbow-wielding country boy is sparingly seen in this clip makes one think 1) Who edits Daryl out of anything “Walking Dead”? Rookie mistakes. 2) Um, yea, he’s going to die at some point. Surprised? I’m sure folks are still holding prayer vigils for Hershel.

This time around, it looks like our survivors will be spending some quality time with Gareth en route to Washington D.C. Gareth, the leader of Terminus aka Shady City, can’t be trusted seems primed for more screen time. Oh, and by the looks of things at the 2:15 mark, there’s going to be mutant zombies. And if that’s not bad enough, it appears poor Beth (Emily Kinney) got herself in the post-apocalyptic pokie.

There’s plenty of time between now and October for speculation.
