ATL Comic Profile: Mike Kaiser

This week’s ATL Comic Profile is on Emory University’s Mike Kaiser.

As if stand-up comedy isn’t difficult enough, Mike Kaiser has enjoyed a fast rise through the ranks of Atlanta’s scene all while working towards a PhD in U.S. History from Emory University. Planning to graduate in “2012ish,” Kaiser began comedy a little less than a year ago, and is receiving stage time all over the city on account of his likeable brand of highbrow, tongue-in-cheek humor. He will be co-hosting the 2nd Annual Atlanta Stands Up Awards tonight with Karen Hilton.

ATLien since: 2007

Comedian Since: December, 2009

A lil’ joke: “A judge in California recently overturned the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. I have to admit, I didn’t even know it had anything to do with gay people. I thought it was the government’s policy towards us. When they started a war we weren’t supposed to ask why... and they weren’t going to to tell us.”
