Comedian Olivia Cathcart makes her picks for this week’s best comedy events

Mon., Nov. 2
======Mondays tend to be pretty awful, but Monday nights in Little Five are a blast with Rotknee Presents: Monday Night Comedy at Star Bar. This show always boasts an impressive line-up of ATL’s best comics and the occasional out-of-town guest. The show is free and the drinks are cheap, so come wash away the Monday blues. Doors open at 8 p.m.; show’s at 9:30 p.m.

? Wed., Nov. 4
? Grab your hash pipe because we got a perfect situation unfolding at the Village Theatre Wednesday night. The monthly music-themed variety show, Song Missing, will host a night of comedy, music, and more inspired by the songs of Weezer at Song Missing Presents: SURF WAX ATLANTA. The very dapper and funny Chris Ledford hosts a line-up that features writers, actors, and comedians such as Travis Jones, Samm Severin, Jen Lenny, Andrew Michael, and more while band leader and Buddy Holly look-a-like Noel Stephen will be providing the tunes. Doors open at 8 p.m.; show’s at 9 p.m. $10.
?
?>> If you love to drink local, come to the monthly stand-up showcase Safe Place at Orpheus Brewing. Combine your love of craft beer and comedy in one night at Orpheus’ tap room. Admission is $15 and includes six beer tastings and a tour of the brewery. It’s quite a deal. Show’s at 8 p.m.
?
? Thur., Nov. 5Thursday nights got a great double feature. First things first, head over to the Highland Ballroom for another installment of Schlitz & Giggles. Ten Atlanta comics will take the stage, and there will be plenty of cheap beer available (may I recommend the Schlitz). Doors open at 8 p.m.; show’s at 8:30 p.m. $10 cash at the door.
?
? >> Afterwards, head over to the Village Theatre for what’s become one of Atlanta’s best and most fun shows, Ladie’s Night! Ladie’s Night is the only show that combines video with stand-up as the trio of hosts (Brian Emond, Zach Lamplugh, Joel Ruiz) debut their brand new video sketches, as well as four submissions. In between videos, Paige Bowman, Andrew Markle, Dedrick Flynn, and Trey Dunn will be performing stand-up. Most shows become standing-room only, so get there early. The free show starts at 10:30 p.m.
