Comic’s Weekly Roundup: From 8-Bit Comedy to Jarrod Harris

======Whether you have family in town already and are looking for something fun to do together or looking for an out from that mess, Beer and Comedy Night is a great Monday night activity. Held in the lovely Sweetwater Brewery taproom, you get a liquid dinner and a show with eight of ATL’s finest comics, plus beer tastings throughout the evening. Admission also comes with a souvenir pint, and you can load up on BBQ at the Sweet Auburn food truck in the parking lot before the show. It’s a great event for out-of-towners, too. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show’s at 8 p.m. $10.

? Wed., Nov. 25
? This Wednesday, 8-Bit Comedy comes back to Joystick Gamebar in Edgewood. Joe Pettis hosted the first 8-Bit show last month and it was such a good time he’ll be doing more, the last Wednesday of every month. This month’s show features the likes of Ismael Loutfi, David Perdue, John-Michael Bond, Kevin Saucier, and more. Show starts at 8 p.m. Free.

? >> Over at the Drunken Unicorn will be the debut of a brand new monthly showcase, Surprise Crowd Work. For six comedians, this is just your normal stand-up show, but for two it’ll be a night of just crowd work. The only problem is, nobody knows who’ll get the crowd-work-only sets till they hit the stage. The inaugural show features such local favorites as Paul Gallois, Zach Lamplugh, Will Copeland, Andrew Michael, and more. Andrew Markle and Cherith Fuller host. Doors open at 9 p.m. $7.

? Fri., Nov. 27
======Unwind after a day of stuffing your face and grab a few cold ones at Milltown Arms on Friday night while you enjoy another edition of Cabbage Patch Comedy. Joseph Highsmith hosts this free show that never seems to disappoint. Seats are limited so get there early to snag one. Show starts at 8:30 p.m.

? >> Need more time to sleep off all that turkey? If you’re looking for a casual late-night shindig, throw on some comfy sweats and head out for a night of comedy at the Village Theatre. Hell, you can even attend in your underwear, if you want. You’ll even get into the show for free if you do because it’s time for another edition of Underwear Comedy Party, the show where Atlanta comics will strip down and perform in nothing but their undies. Show starts at 11 p.m. $10 (for the clothed).

?After the holidays, avoid the violence and insanity of the mall and go see Jarrod Harris headline the Laughing Skull Lounge. Harris has performed on TBS series “Lopez Tonight,” and Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham.” Last year, he put out his first album, Present & Talkative, via Rooftop Records. Harris will headline five shows, Friday through Sunday.

? >> On Saturday, you can see former host of CBS’s “Late Late Show” Craig Ferguson headline the Cobb Energy Center. In addition to his tenure as late night host, Ferguson is well known for his role on “The Drew Carey Show” and such films as Brave, How to Train Your Dragon, and more. Ferguson also released his fifth comedy album, I’m Here to Help, in 2013. ATL favorite Dave Stone will also be in attendance as Ferguson’s feature act. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $50.
