Weekends are overrated, Tuesday night is the night as actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo headline a very special one-nighter at [https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/983037?_ga=1.216636502.1379700445.1446704105&utma=1.1846158732.1446704105.1447359994.1447779492.4&utmb=1.4.10.1447779492&utmc=1&utmx=-&utmz=1.1447779492.4.4.utmcsr=google|utmccn=(organic)|utmcmd=organic|utmctr=(not provided)&utmv=-&utmk=232119455|Terminal West]. Garofalo has been a stand-up mainstay since the ’90s and has performed on her own Comedy Central half-hour special as well as numerous late night shows. She’s also acted in a number of great TV shows and movies including “The Ben Stiller Show,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Broad City,” Mystery Men, and Wet Hot American Summer. In addition, the comedian is a critically acclaimed author and passionate activist. Joining her will be Atlanta’s own Ismael Loutfi and Cherith Fuller__. You can stay up late for this one, I believe in you. Doors open at 8 p.m. and show’s at 9 p.m. $25.

======Church and comedy don’t exactly mix, but at Holy Sh!t they do. Held monthly at 529 Bar in EAV, comedian Joe Pettis hosts a night of blasphemous stand-up, improv, and sketch. It’s the only show in town that’s BYOB (bring your own Bible). Holy Sh!t is free to attend, but donations are accepted and will definitely help you get into Heaven (I guess). Doors open at 9:30 p.m. and show’s at 10 p.m.

This Friday head over to Reynoldstown to the cozy WonderRoot basement for another WonderComedy. This month’s show has the great Lace Larrabee headlining. Larrabee is a fantastic comedian who in addition to performing at clubs around the country was a performer at last year’s Laughing Skull Fest. She’ll be joined by other uproarious local comics such as host Andrew Michael, Samm Severin, Michael Rowland, Anthony Driver, and more. This BYOB (this time we mean alcohol) showcase is always a blast. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and show’s at 9 p.m. $5 cash at the door.

The Weekend

This weekend, you have six chances to catch Chris Franjola at the Laughing Skull Lounge. You might know Franjola from “Chelsea Lately,” where he was a regular panelist and writer. Franjola has also written for “Family Guy” and released his latest album, The Shallow End, in 2014. He headlines six shows Thursday through Sunday. Thursday night’s show is already sold out, so don’t twiddle your thumbs now.

======>> Every Saturday night, Smith’s Olde Bar holds a killer show featuring the best of Atlanta plus special guest comics from around the country — and it’s all free. The 1AM Secret Show  is one of the longest-running showcases in the city. The late, late night show (held at 1 a.m., hence) has seen stunning drop-in appearances from comics like Craig Robinson, Kyle Kinane, Bobcat Goldthwait, James Adomian, and more. The line-up is a secret, so come see it for yourself.
